IHOP (Breakfast)

Well, after a couple of weeks of being deterred by the long lines at the newly opened International House of Pancakes at the City Center, my wife and I finally got it. We arrived on a Saturday morning around 0930, and we only had to wait about 10 minutes.  Once we were seated, the hostess informed us that our waiter was very busy, but would be with us in a few minutes.  A few seconds later, Charleston the waiter, came to the table with menus and a smile.  Charleston also told us that he was busy because a co-worker didn't show up for work.  With all the warnings, Charleston did a wonderful job and we didn't wait at all to give our order or receive our food.  On this joyous occasion, I ordered the Smoked Sausage Combo, with pancakes (3.95BD).  My wife order the Spinach Omelet with pancakes (4.5BD) and an extra order of hash browns (.75BD).  We both had coffee (3.0BD) and I had an extra ice tea (1.25BD).  It wasn't long after we ordered, the manager showed up with our food.  It was really quick!  The manager was confided that the food was going to be better than that in the U.S.  I thought the food was terrific.  In fact, I couldn't tell the difference, and the price wasn't too far off of what we paid back in the states. Our total bill was 13.45BD.  The variety of pancake syrups were great, our favorite being the butter pecan.  The only hiccup that we had was the server delivering the coffee provided us a pot of coffee, which had enough coffee to barely fill one cup.  However, good 'ol Charleston rectified the situation within minutes.  I've heard differing reports from others regarding slow service and the quality of the food. Like I mentioned, we were quite happy with both.
