Lemon (Breakfast)

I recently went to Lemon for lunch, and noticed an impressive breakfast menu.  So, my wife and went out to Amwaj for breakfast.  There are several places in Bahrain to enjoy a nice western breakfast, including: TGIF, Fuddruckers, Johnny Rockets, Chillies, and Le Chocolat to mention a few.  Well, you need to put Lemon on the list as well. My wife ordered the California Omelet (3.8BD) that comes with a nice avocado and cheese omelet, hash browns, smoked sausage, toast and a small salad.  I ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes (2.8BD) and ordered a side of Hash Browns (250fills) and a side of tomatoes (250fills).  We shared both meals and had a very good breakfast. I'm very pleased with the menu offered at Lemon. I'm going to try the pizza on my next trip. Stay tuned.

Iskenderun Grill

If you ask most folks that I know, they will tell you Iskenderun Grill is the place to go for lamb chops and tikka.  On my last trip, my wife and I were pleasantly surprised how good the chicken wings (2BD) were.  The wings are very small, but grilled to perfection. Add a couple 400 fill Shwarma Sandwiches and a side of Olive Salad (600 fills), and you have a great meal for two. (See previous post

Teavana

My wife recently visited Teavana at the City Centre and learned that the store has a lot more to offer than just the free samples at the front.  It turns out, you can have any tea made for you, hot or cold, right there in the store.  Sure enough, behind the counter, are the tools of the trade to make your special drink.  Today we had the a nice crisp Youth-berry Ice Tea.  Cost of the tea is 1.9BD each.

Mino's Pizza

One of the best pizza spots in Adliya is Mino's.  Located in the 338 area, Mino's has a wood oven and the restaurant reports the wood and primary ingredients come from Italy.  On this trip, my wife and I ordered the Insalata Verde salad (1.9BD), which came with lettuce, cucumber, green pepper with balsamic dressing.  For the main course, we had the Vegetarian pizza (4.5BD) with extra pepperoni (600 Fills). The pizza is delicious! Some say there may be too much sauce on it, but I think it's a perfect balance of thin pizza, toppings and sauce.

Lemon

Today, my wife and I headed out to Amwaj to try the Lemon restaurant.  We arrived at 1200, so we had the choice of breakfast, or a regular lunch menu.  The breakfast menu was very "American," offering a large selection of omelets and pancake meals.  The breakfast menu is offered until 1300, but we opted for the lunch menu instead.  My wife ordered the Urban Cheese Burger (3.5BD) and I had the Cajun Grilled Chicken sandwich (3.2BD).  Both meals came with a bucket of fries and coleslaw.  We were both impressed with the presentation of the meals.  The meals were served on hot plates and everything was delicious.  The coleslaw was very creamy, and the portion was a little small, but was appropriate to the meal…it was a struggle to eat everything presented.  The Lemon was hit. There was a lot of food on the menu, including some traditional dishes and pizza.  I'll be going back for breakfast in the near future.  Oh, the place also offers shisha; however, they do have a divided smoking section for that.

Pizzeria Cafe Italia

As often as I go to the Seef Mall, I rarely visit the very end where you'll find my latest dining spot, Pizzeria Cafe Italia.  The restaurant has a nice menu, very friendly staff and very good pizza.  My wife and I ordered the Mediterranean Salad (4.1BD), the Melanzane (Eggplant) (2.8BD) and a Pepperoni Pizza (5.6BD).  The salad was good, but I think it was rather expensive for what you get.  The Melanzane was good as well, but almost too cheesy (if that's even possible for Italian food) and the pizza was outstanding. Overall, a very good meal!

Shamiana

I recently went to the City Centr to have lunch at Kosebasi, however they didn't open until 1200.  Since it was about 1130, I decided to head over to the food court to seek another option. I found Shaimiana, and the Chole Bhature  (1.6BD) caught my eye.  The chick pea dish with a fried bread was very good.  I had the cauliflower as an additional side.  The bread was really good. I didn't know it was fried until I got it, but it was like eating a fresh fried donut. I don't eat the food court very often.  This place would be a good alternative to a typical fast food burger joint.

Yo Sushi!

My wife and I are fans of Yo Sushi, located near the Johnny Rockets in the Seef area.  Some friends of ours were raving about the Chicken Katsu Curry, so we decided to head over for lunch and try it out. We started out with the unlimited Misu Soup (700fills) and the Hot Spicy Edamame (1.4BD).  The spicy edamame is one of my favorites, but you have to order it from the menu, since it's not likely you'll see it on the go-round.  The Chicken Katsu Curry (1.6BD) was very good, and a very large portion for the price.  These type of dishes are made to order, so it came out nice and hot.  My wife loved it, and I thought it was pretty good, especially for the price and quantity.  It was a perfect combination for lunch.  Oh, we went for lunch on a Friday, the restaurant doesn't open until 1200.
