Macaroni Grill

My wife and I recently visited the Macaroni Grill in Juffair. I was eating light, and ordered a salad and the soup of the day.  My wife however, ordered the Classic Italian.  The Classic Italian came as a huge portion of pasta, sausages and meatballs.  Of course I had to try it and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend the dish, but recommend you come hungry because it will definitely fill you up. Cost of the dish was  4.9BD.

Papa Johns (Pizza)

Papa Johns is one of the American pizza company's here in Bahrain that delivers a good pizza at a reasonable price.  On this occasion, my wife and I ordered the meal for two, which included a medium size pizza (Garden Delight) and an order of cheese sticks and two drinks.  Total price was 5.6 BD.

Bennigan's (American/Irish)

I'm not the biggest fan of Bennigan's; however, a few of us went over to use one of our buy one get one entrees using our entertainer coupons.  I ordered the Turkey O'Toole, that came with freshly sliced turkey breast, melted Swiss cheese and smoky honey Dijon dressing. Served on a pretzel bun. The sandwich was pretty good, though I was expecting more out of the pretzel bun.  I think it was just a regular bun. My friends ordered the classic Cheeseburger and the Buffalo Chicken Pub Bites.  Both of them said the dinner was good, but nothing to rave about.

Copper Chimney (Indian)

The Copper Chimney is my favorite Indian restaurant in Bahrain.  I usually order the Vindaluo Chicken.  A friend recommend the Butter Chicken, so I tried it on my last visit.  I ordered it Spicy Hot, but it actually came out somewhat mild.  The Butter Chicken was really good, it had a nice creamy taste.  So, on your next out, I would recommend either the Vindalo Chicken Extra Spicy or the Butter Chicken, either one will be a home run.

Mooya Burger

Looking for a good burger in Juffair? If you haven't tried it yet, you should check Mooya Burger.  Mooya offers a nice selection of burgers, black bean burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches.  I like the chicken sandwich, Caliente" style, which comes with pepper jack cheese, jalapeno's and a chipotle sauce on a wheat bun.  My wife enjoyed the black bean burger, and we usually split an order of fries.  I grab the bottle of vinegar and soak the fries with it. Good stuff!! 

 

Franky Joe's

In the mood for a good dog, I made my way over to Franky Joe's at Amwaj.  Located in the Alrosa building, Franky Joe's offers hotdogs, baked potatoes and subs.  On this trip, I tried the Chicago Dog, loaded with sauerkraut and mustard (maybe a little too much mustard). It was good, but the big winner on this trip was my wife's baked potato, the Super Supreme. The Super Supreme is a baked potato with grilled chicken, crispy pepperoni, mushrooms, cheddar, mozzarella with a parmesan sauce and spicy seasoning with garlic mayo. My wife orders it without the chicken, it was delicious.

Pizza Express

Well, it was another great stop at Pizza Express on Amwaj.  My wife and I ordered our favorite pizza, the Giardinera with pepperoni. However, on this occasion, we also ordered the Antipasti Misto as an appetizer. The appetizer was delicious.  It came with small portions of potatoes, baked bread sticks and bread balls.  The bread was accompanied by roasted tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, garlic butter and some dipping sauces.  It was very good. We were also informed that Pizza Express was going to offer a new menu tomorrow. We'll have to back and check that out in the near future. 

The Pizza was 3.75, Appetizer was 3.75.  Add a Diet Pepsi and Tea for a total of 10.35BD.

MM Premium German Bakery

Achtung Leute! Say it isn't so, a German bakery in Bahrain.  Tucked away in the depths of the Seef Mall, is the MM Premium German Bakery. The bakery offers a selection of desserts and breads.  Prices are comparable to any other dessert place, but it's not too often you come across strudel. I tried the Cherry Kirschstrudel. It wasn't bad, a little rich, but it was a nice change.  The price was 1.5BD.
